Older Cubs Scouts from all 9 Cub Packs in East and West Meon, Liphook, Liss, Petersfield and Sheet enjoyed a weekend by the sea at Southbourne Sea Scout Headquarters. A scavenger hunt along the shoreline, hiking around the estuary, cooking popcorn over a candle and using Maritime signal flags to send messages to each other were just some of the activities the young people enjoyed in the Spring sunshine.
Scouting is encouraging youth members to become more involved in shaping the programme they follow as well as developing their leadership and teamwork skills. To this end, all the Cubs took part in a Forum where they were able to put forward their suggestions and ideas, providing valuable input to those leading the Packs.
It was a great weekend packed with new challenges and activities plus gave both the Cubs and leaders the opportunities to meet up and make new friends.
