An excellent night at Sheet Scouts where we split into three groups. Whilst two groups were bridge building, the third were trying their hand at Bomb Disposal. Yes you did read that right.

Bomb Disposal…

The Bomb team were split into a ‘Command team’ and a ‘Disposal team’, and set about the tricky task of identifying, and defusing a ‘bomb’ within the Scout hut. There were a few surprises along the way with many problems to solve.

Both teams had half the information and needed to work together to make the bomb safe. With many parts of different badges from Communicator, teamwork, team leader, and even entertainer the Scouts really got into the roles.

So far the score is 3-0 to the bomb, but with one team of Scouts solving all but the final clue. With the pressure on and the time literally ticking away I’m wondering who’s brave enough to try next time.

Command team going through the instructions.

Bridge Challenge

Can you build a bridge…. out of lolly sticks…. that can take the weight of some water bottles? How much weight can it support, how long can you make it? Lots of questions there, but fortunately the Scouts at 1st Sheet (Durford) know some of the answers. It’s definitely a work in progress, and the glue gun might need topping up but a good time was had by all.
