On the twelve of May 2024, a challenge was set, seventy plus brilliant Beavers, two Jubilee Squirrels (one moving on), a young leader, adult leaders and lots of families went on an afternoon adventure around the hills and slopes of the Devils punch bowl up at Hindhead.
The weather was glorious if not a little scorching with the sun out, blue skies and white fluffy clouds.
A choice of two routes for our young adventurers had been set, along the way our brilliant beavers and co. scavenged finding badge billboards amongst the beautiful views, trees, plants and other finds, these were to be ticked off on a Beaver badge bingo piece of paper.
Chatting, giggling, and excitement could be heard from a distance, close-up discussions about badges and other topics.
Some beavers planned how they would achieve the badge themselves, others made vocal lists of badges they wished to be awarded.
Our Brilliant beavers also had chats about Eurovision in all its glory, trying new foods, song lyrics and choices along with a future party theme.
A sense of determination, teamwork and exploration filled the time.
We ended with smiles knowing we had achieved the challenge set, had plans of future fun and more beaver badges to be awarded.
