Centenary Games May (13)The Kath Stephens Trophy

A combined team of Liphook Cubs are the first winners of the new Kath Stephens Trophy.

An Akela with Liss Cubs for nearly 30 years, Kath was an active and much loved member of 1st Liss Scout Group and Petersfield District, enthusiastically encouraging the young people in her charge and supporting hundreds of events over the years.

On a blustery miserable day, 50 Cub Scouts from around the District came together for fun and games to compete for the new trophy. Events included slingshot, the sargent jump, skipping and shuttle run finishing off with a 1000m run – all this was done with great enthusiasm despite the decidedly chilly weather for May. Liphook took Gold position, with 1st Sheet (Adhurst) in Silver and 1st Liss in Bronze position. Congratulations to all who took part and thanks to the leaders who cheerfully helped stage this event.
