In a thrilling development for Explorer Scouts and outdoor enthusiasts, Petersfield District is delighted to announce its inclusion of the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) program. This initiative opens up a world of opportunities for local youth to embark on transformative journeys of self-discovery and skill development.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a globally recognized program designed to challenge and empower young individuals, fostering personal growth and leadership skills. By joining forces with the DofE initiative, the Petersfield District aims to provide its members with an enriching experience that goes beyond traditional scouting activities.
“We are thrilled to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program to our Explorer Scouts. It aligns seamlessly with our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only adept in outdoor skills but also possess the resilience and leadership qualities that come from completing challenging expeditions and community service,” expressed Jannette.
The DofE program consists of four key components: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in community service, enhance their physical fitness, develop practical skills, and undertake adventurous expeditions. These experiences are designed to instil confidence, teamwork, and a sense of achievement.
For those eager to embark on the DofE journey, the Petersfield District is now accepting registrations. Scouts aged 13½-18 can seize this opportunity to broaden their horizons, make lasting memories, and earn a prestigious award that will set them apart in future endeavours.
As the Petersfield District proudly embraces the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, it reaffirms its commitment to providing diverse and impactful experiences for the youth, moulding them into confident, responsible, and adventurous individuals ready to take on the challenges of the world.
