OK so we all know Scouting is too good for the young people of the District, so to make things a bit more exciting for our adult volunteers we are running a pilot for the Hampshire Leaders Challenge Award.

At the last County Scout Leaders Meeting it was agreed to pilot a badge for leaders to earn as they become more experienced setting them challenges to complete along the way. The Badge will have three stages and each stage can be earned separately (with the central fleur de lis being part of the first stage badge).
The idea is for the Troop Leader or GSL to manage the challenges and present each badge. [ Experienced Leaders can earn the badge by demonstrating that they have undertaken these activities over their Scouting career ]. Thoughts on the challenges are also shared below and any feedback is welcome to ADC (Scouts).
The requirements for the badge, as decided by the County PL’s forum are:

Skills

1. Introduce a Cub joining the Troop
2. Learn 3 new games and run them on a Troop night
3. Run a Troop evening
4. Or similar challenges agreed by the leader in charge

Leadership

1. Run a camp
2. Run a Patrol, PL or Troop Forum (and actively take action from it)
3. Mentor a Scout to complete their Chief Scouts Gold Award
4. Or similar challenges agreed by the leader in charge

Scouting Community

1. Take part in a District Leaders Meeting
2. Visit another section and run a game or activity
3. Take an active role in supporting a District or County activity
4. Or similar challenges agreed by the leader in charge
