It’s always a pleasure to go back to 1st Liss Scouts, especially when the ropes and staves are out. Dan the leader has big ambitions for the 20 Scouts to be able to build a Trebuchet by the end of the year. Sounds like a long shot to me šŸ˜‰ Anyway, we started with the traditional Clove Hitch, where I was able to show a second, quicker way of tying one. Knowledge passed on! With the new Patrol Leaders taking charge I was able to show the three oldest Scouts how to stop the ends of ropes from fraying. Splicing ropes a dying art, but the three Scouts seem to have the basics and just need some practice.

No photo of the Scouts tonight as I was busy, but here’s a shot of what they could end up doing!
