A fantastic evening at 1st Liphook tonight, with the Scouts split into two groups. The first group were upstairs the the Group’s very own 6 yard shooting range. With the newly reformed shooting club hoping for some silverware next year these sessions are becoming popular. Scouts are taught range safety and the very basics of shooting air rifles. They are then led by experianced instructors within the group to a very high standard, eventually ending up at the UK home of shooting at Bisley.

With a little practice the Scouts were improving over a very short period of time. One of the Scouts was very keen to show a target card and was keen for a photo with it….

Turns out it wasn’t actually his score card but as they say ‘Work smarter not harder!’

Meanwhile, downstairs another instructor was running an indoor Archery range. Again Scouts were introduced to range safety, and under the eye of a qualified instructor started learning the basics of Archery. Those more experianced were also members of the Archery club, but all those who took part had a very enjoyable evening. In a few weeks time the tables will be turned and those who were shooting will try Archery and those who were shooting will be Archers!
