A double act at 1st Liphook this week and a really interesting talkback from some Scouts and Leaders who attended the 26th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea. In case you’re wondering what I’m on about maybe this might refresh your memory…

UK Scouts attended the Jamboree but were quickly evacuated from site for a number of reasons. Listening to the adventure from people who had actually been there was fascinating, and hearing how their adventure had changed from a pre planned on site adventure to zooming around Seoul and staying in hotels, with a programme that was safe, exciting, and thrown together at the last minute was really great.

Some of the leaders who had volunteered to be part of the IST (International Support Team- think camp staff) brought in some of the amazing badges, bags and other items to show the Scouts what they could be doing in four years time in Poland.

Those who went had a great time. It was not the adventure the signed up for but none the less it was a great one they ended up with and all those who took part would do it all again.

The next World Scout Jamboree is in Poland in 2027 and all current Scouts will be offered a space on the selection weekend if they wish to attend.
