It’s not often I get to visit one of our local Explorer Units, but always fun when I do. With a problem arranging their busy programme Rother Explorers, based in Sheet found them selves with a free evening and invited me in. Would I be able to come up with something to keep 15 active and enthusiastic teenagers happy for an hour or so.

Cue the Taskmaster music….. With assistance from the regular leaders we held a Taskmaster evening and some help from Facebook the (welding) gauntlet was thrown down. For those unfamiliar with the TV programme we set the Explorers a series of tasks that could be either individual tasks or team tasks. Working against each other or the clock they had to solve or complete different fun challenges. There was a good fun atmosphere as the teams made stop motion films, crushed grapes with hammers, toothbrushes and shoes, watermelon was eaten very quickly and a myriad of objects carefully balanced on heads.
